Back on Stage: Renewing Young Artists

As we emerge from the trough of a worldwide pandemic, a quick survey of our youth reveals that there is still much recovering to be done. Anxiety among school-aged children is at an all-time high and the repercussions of social isolation during a period which should be focused on social growth and development are only now beginning to reveal the depth of their impact. Now is the time to focus on the mental health and recovery of our youth. Giving them a chance to come together once again, to regroup and stabilize emotionally, is one of the most important things we can do to mitigate the lasting effects of the pandemic period.

And that's where Spindrift School comes in; the performing arts have always been a haven, not only for self-expression, but for creating a sense of community and support. The stage inherently offers a creative space to make sense out of chaos, feel strong emotions and let go of stressors; but it is also the place where youth may, at long last, come together to create something positive.

Now is the time for our children to begin a unique and healing journey that can only be found onstage.
